How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
The simplest method is to delete your account directly from the app:
- Open WhichOne
- Go to Settings (gear icon, bottom right)
- Scroll down to "Delete Account"
- Tap "Delete Account"
- Read the permanence warning
- Type ELIMINA in the confirmation field
- Tap "Delete permanently"
Deletion is processed within minutes: your session is closed on all devices and the account is no longer accessible.
Option 2: Email Request
If you prefer a manual review or have trouble accessing the app, you can send a request by email:
- Send an email to support@whichone.social
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- In the body, include:
- Your username
- The email address or phone number registered with the account
- A short confirmation: "I request the permanent deletion of my account"
- Attach a copy of an identity document (to confirm you are the account holder)
- Send the email
We will process your request within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation email when the process is complete.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account
Data Deleted (Within 30 Days)
- Profile: Username, nickname, bio, profile photo
- Content: All polls, videos and uploaded photos
- Activity: Votes, likes, saves, comments you posted
- Private messages: All DM conversations with other users
- Authentication data: Session tokens and federated credentials (Apple/Google)
- Preferences: Privacy settings, notifications, language, theme
Your public posts are removed from the feeds and polls visible to other users.
Data Retained for Legal Obligations
To comply with the law, we may retain for up to 24 months:
- Access and security logs: To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
- Abuse reports: If your account was reported for violating the guidelines (for investigations)
- CSAM evidence: If your content was identified as child abuse (due to the obligation to report to the authorities)
This data is anonymized and segregated. It will not be used to recreate a profile of you or to contact you.
Data That Remains Visible
- Other users' comments on your posts: Since they belong to other users, they remain. However, your username and the link to your profile become non-clickable.
- Polls saved by other users: If someone saved one of your polls before deletion, the poll disappears from their collection, but may remain in the feed for a short period (cache).
Right of Access to Your Data Before Deletion
If you would like a copy of all your data before deleting it, you can request a Data Export:
- Email support@whichone.social with the subject "Personal Data Export Request" (GDPR Art. 20)
- Include your username and the registered email address
- Attach a copy of an identity document
- You will receive a JSON file with all your data within 30 days
Deleted Accounts Cannot Be Recovered
Once deleted, an account cannot be recovered. You cannot:
- Access your previous polls, messages or photos
- Ask us to restore your account or your data
You can register again at any time with the same email address or phone number: a new, empty account will be created, with no connection to the deleted data.
Abuse Reports on Deleted Accounts
If your account was deleted due to a serious violation (child abuse, threats), you are permanently banned: we reserve the right to refuse the creation of new accounts by you, with any email address, phone number or federated account (Apple/Google), and to delete them if identified.

If you have questions about the deletion process, contact us at support@whichone.social.
